Well here is an interesting picture. The fish is huge but yours truly can’t tell if it is a Blue or Black Marlin. As you can see the head has been ravaged by a shark which has removed the starboard pectoral fin. As one of the main discerning factors between a black or blue is the fact that black marlin have rigid pectoral fins, I cannot tell. Can you help me Charles?
A happy angler holds up a very decent female Mahi Mahi landed on Nevagivup with Charles Wheeler at the helm.
Captain Richard has added a new 15 Kg Men’s Skipjack Tuna to the record books for angler Richard Fogarty on the 4th of September. This rather large skipjack tuna tipped the scales at 10 Kg. Congratulations to Richard as this was his first fishing trip and first record!
With a whopping 30 charters in August and 36 charters in September, Crusoe Fishing Adventures has had it’s busiest months since we have been here!
Leanne and her partner Tim fished with us in August and managed to fish a day on each of our boats. Their end tally was 7 Blue Marlin raised, 4 hooked and 1 tagged. The fish were winning that week! They also ended up with a nice mixed bag of Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi and also raised a couple of Sailfish. The pictures are of Leanne with a small Vanuatu Yellowfin and Tim with a nice Bull Mahi Mahi.

Nevagivup returns from a days fishing.
Here is a very emotive shot of a Peter Pakula Big Eye Lure draped over a Daiwa 50 Kg reel on the back deck of Nevagivup on the way home from a full day’s fishing charter. Although these reels are rarely seen today, in their time they were known as great game fishing performers.
Look at this beautiful Dogtooth Tuna! Landed on Nevagivup it is a beautiful specimen of a fighting fish world renown for fighting well above its weight class. Dogtooth Tuna fishing remains one of the most exciting pastimes on the planet and here is a prime example of what you get on the rare occurrence that you are the victor.

This wonderful 35 Kg Sailfish was taken aboard Nevagivup. Her skipper and deck hand help the happy angler who is peering over the sail with great difficulty.
