Vanuatu waters have gained the reputation as the Premium Sport Fishing and Big Game Fishing destination in the South Pacific and Port Vila is the Mecca of Game Fishing. The deep untouched waters surrounding Efate and the Vanuatu islands are the ideal playing fields for big game fishing anglers who strive to meet the challenge of catching the big sea monsters. Here, industrial fishing is under developed, fishing charters are scarce and 90% of the islands and the surrounding waters remain untouched. Abyssal depths can be reached a few miles away from the shore of nearly all islands and the variety and number of fish is simply huge.

After a 15 minute cruise from Port Vila harbour, you're in 1000 meters of deep blue water where yellowfin tuna, Mahi Mahi and Marlin abound. This combined with a number of lee coastlines providing relatively calm seas makes Vanuatu the ultimate destination for Big Game fishing.

In order to protect the marine ecosystem, whenever it is feasible, we adopt the tag and release technique for all protected species such as billfish.

In a single day aboard Horizon, anglers have caught 6 Wahoo weighing averageing 90 pounds, 3 mahi mahi around 50lb, 12 yellowfin and a blue Marlin! Due to the warm currents bathing the island's coastlines, unlike many other fishing grounds on Earth, pacific blue marlin can be caught here all year round and a number of granders over 1000 lb have been taken very recently.

Fishing in Vanuatu is favoured all year round. There is simply great fishing for everyone!

All our fishing equipment is new and well serviced. We use high-tech, reliable Shimano Tiagra reels combined with Ian Miller cobalt rods for both light and heavy tackle game fishing and a great variety of proven performance lures. All methods of fishing are available on board our charter boats - Just discuss your preference with the captain and crew.

All our fishing charters include free pick-up from any hotel in Port Vila. We like to leave the docks at 7:00am for half-day charters, before 6am for full day charters and fish hard all day. All snacks, lunches and non-alcoholic drinks are included in your charter price.
